A Better Dystopia
A Better Dystopia is a covers album from the American stoner rock band Monster Magnet, released on 22 May 2021 through Napalm Records. Rather than offering a set of new originals, the band turn to songs by psychedelic rock and garage rock acts of the 1960s and 1970s, mostly drawn from those two scenes.
It arrives as the band's eleventh studio album, following Mindfucker from 2018, and it sits in a career that began with Spine of God in 1991. For anyone who knows Monster Magnet through records like Powertrip or Dopes to Infinity, it is a chance to hear the music that shaped their heavy, fuzzed-out sound, played by a band that clearly knows its way around it.
