OK Human
OK Human is Weezer's fourteenth studio album, released on 29 January 2021 through Atlantic and Crush Music. Jake Sinclair, who had already worked with the band on the 2016 White Album, produced it, with additional vocal production from Suzy Shinn. It arrived after the lead single "All My Favorite Songs", which came out eight days earlier.
The sound is a long way from the band's usual guitar crunch. Drawing on Harry Nilsson's Nilsson Sings Newman and the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds, it leans into baroque pop, with a 38-piece orchestra recorded using only analogue equipment. It got generally positive reviews and reached number 41 on the Billboard 200. It also stands as the first of two Weezer albums in 2021, with the hard rock-minded Van Weezer following four months later, which makes the contrast between them all the more striking.
