The Best of Obituary
The Best of Obituary is a compilation from the death metal band Obituary, released through Roadrunner Records on 29 January 2008. It gathers highlights from a catalogue that had grown considerably by then, arriving a year after Xecutioner's Return and shortly before Darkest Day.
For anyone coming to the band fresh, it's a handy way in. Obituary's run began with Slowly We Rot in 1989 and Cause of Death in 1990, followed by The End Complete in 1992 and World Demise in 1994. After Back From the Dead in 1997 came a gap before Frozen in Time in 2005 brought them back. A collection like this gives a quick sense of that whole stretch, and it suits listeners who want the essentials before digging into the full albums.
