Weezer
Weezer's sixth studio album, known to fans as the Red Album, came out on 3 June 2008 through DGC and Interscope. Rick Rubin and Jacknife Lee each produced part of it, and the band handled a few tracks themselves. It is the only Weezer record where all four members take a turn on lead vocals, and it stretches out musically more than its predecessors, as songs like "Dreamin'", "The Angel and The One" and "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived" show.
It followed Make Believe (2005) and sold less than that album, but critics warmed to it more. "Pork and Beans" and "Troublemaker" both did well on modern rock radio, and the video for "Pork and Beans" was the most-watched on the internet the weekend after it appeared. The band promoted the record with the unconventional Hootenanny Tour rather than a standard run of rock shows.
