Weezer
Weezer formed in Los Angeles in 1992 and have been making guitar-driven alternative rock and power pop ever since. Rivers Cuomo leads the band on vocals and guitar, with Patrick Wilson on drums, Brian Bell on guitar and keyboards, and Scott Shriner on bass. Their self-titled 1994 debut, known as the Blue Album, brought hits in "Undone – The Sweater Song", "Buddy Holly" and "Say It Ain't So", and went multi-platinum.
Pinkerton (1996) was darker and rougher. It struggled at first, then grew into a cult favourite, and both records are often named among the best of the 1990s. The Green Album (2001) brought a brighter, poppier sound and "Island in the Sun", while Make Believe (2005) gave them "Beverly Hills", their first US top ten single. Later came the orchestral OK Human (2021) and the four-season SZNZ mini-albums.
