Pacific Daydream
Pacific Daydream is Weezer's eleventh studio album, released on 27 October 2017 through Atlantic Records and Crush Management. Butch Walker produced most of it, while Jonny Coffer and J.R. Rotem worked on the lead single, "Feels Like Summer". The record leans into a polished, modern pop sound, a clear step away from the band's earlier guitar-driven albums.
It arrived after the band's 2016 self-titled album, and reviews were mixed. It still reached number 23 on the Billboard 200 and number 68 on the UK Albums Chart, and it picked up a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. It's worth hearing as a snapshot of Weezer chasing a brighter, radio-friendly sound, and for seeing how that experiment sits beside the rest of their catalogue.
