Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap is the third studio album by the Australian hard rock band AC/DC. It came out on 20 September 1976 in Australia, with a European release following on 5 November through Atlantic. Its blend of hard rock and blues rock sits between the band's early records and the run that began with Let There Be Rock in 1977.
It matters in the band's story for two reasons. This was the first AC/DC album recorded entirely with one line-up, with no tracks featuring a different bassist or drummer. It also had an odd journey to America: the album was not issued in the United States until 1981, more than a year after Bon Scott's death, so many American listeners heard Scott's work here only after he was gone. It is well worth hearing as the sound of a band settling into itself.
