For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)
For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) is AC/DC's eighth studio album, released on Atlantic in November 1981. It followed Back in Black and was recorded in Paris, closing out the band's run of three albums with producer Mutt Lange. The cover shortens the title to For Those About to Rock.
It did well where it counted. The record sold over four million copies in the US and gave the band their first number one album there, a feat they would not repeat until Black Ice in 2008. At home in Australia it reached number three on the Kent Music Report chart. Rolling Stone called it their best album in its original review, which is a bold claim given what came before. Worth hearing as the end of an era, and it was reissued in 2003 in the AC/DC Remasters series.
