Album
Stiff Upper Lip
Stiff Upper Lip is AC/DC's fourteenth studio album, released on 28 February 2000 through Elektra. It followed Ballbreaker from 1995 and came eight years before Black Ice, so it sits in a fairly quiet stretch of the band's output. The sound is hard rock with a strong blues rock streak, and the arena-sized feel the band had long been known for.
The record was produced by George Young, older brother of Malcolm and Angus Young, which keeps the whole thing close to home. It turned out to be the last AC/DC album he produced before his death in 2017. That family connection gives it a particular place in the band's story, and it is worth hearing for anyone who wants to follow the group's long run of studio work. It was reissued in the UK in 2005 and in the US in 2007 as part of the AC/DC Remasters series.
