Join Together
Join Together is a live set drawn from The Who's 1989 25th Anniversary Tour, released on 28 February 1990. It came out on MCA Records in the US and Virgin in the UK, and was dedicated to Keith Moon. The US vinyl edition was a three-LP box set with a full colour booklet of credits and tour photographs, and it was also issued on cassette and later as a two-CD set.
The centrepiece is a live Tommy, assembled from two charity shows: Radio City Music Hall in New York on 27 June and the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on 24 August. The second disc gathers songs from six different concerts on the tour. It sits in the band's story as a document of their anniversary return, and it is worth hearing for a chance to take in their 1969 rock opera on stage alongside a wider selection of the live show.
