Ready Steady Who
Ready Steady Who is an EP from the Who, released in November 1966 on the Reaction label. Its title nods to Ready Steady Go!, the TV show on which the band had recently appeared in a special. The record isn't a souvenir of that broadcast, though, as the tracks are different recordings from the ones performed on screen.
It arrived about a month before the band's album A Quick One, so it sits in that busy stretch when the Who were moving from their debut, My Generation, towards the records that would make their name. As a pop rock and rock release, it's a small but telling piece of that period, and worth hunting down if you like to see how a band's story fits together between the albums.
