The Early Years: 1965–1972

The Early Years 1965–1972 is a box set gathering the first chapter of Pink Floyd's recording life. It came out on 11 November 2016 on Pink Floyd Records, and it spreads seven volumes across 33 discs, mixing CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays and vinyl. Tucked in alongside them are photos, posters and tour programmes.

For anyone who loves the band's early years, the appeal is in the rarities: early non-album singles, plus unreleased studio and live recordings. Volumes 1–6 later became available separately, but Volume 7, Continu/ation, has stayed exclusive to the full set. A two-CD selection, Cre/ation, covers 1967 to 1972 for those wanting something smaller. It's a thorough way to hear how the band sounded before The Dark Side of the Moon.
