Those Once Loyal
Those Once Loyal is the eighth and last studio album by Bolt Thrower, the British death metal band. It came out on 11 November 2005 through Metal Blade Records, recorded in Coventry at Sable Rose Studios with producer Andy Faulkner. It marked the return of vocalist Karl Willetts, who rejoined in November 2004 and had last sung on Mercenary in 1998.
The band's melodic, groove-driven sound is here given tighter songs and arrangements, with a cleaner production than their earlier records. War remains the subject, and commentators have heard a particular focus on the First World War, a theme the band had visited on ...For Victory. The cover art draws on a plaque from the Guards Memorial in St James's Park, London. It reached number 76 in Germany, the highest chart placing of their career, and a European tour followed in 2006.
