Album
The IVth Crusade
The IVth Crusade is the fourth studio album by Bolt Thrower, the British death metal band. It came out on Earache Records on 9 November 1992, and it sits in the middle of a run that began with In Battle There Is No Law! in 1988 and Realm of Chaos in 1989. War Master followed in 1991, and the band's next record, …For Victory, arrived in 1994.
The record is filed under death metal and death-doom, which tells you something about where Bolt Thrower were heading at this point in their story. If you know the band through their earlier, faster albums, this is the one to hear next, to see how the sound settled into something heavier and more deliberate.
