Album
¡Dos!
¡Dos! is Green Day's tenth studio album and the middle part of the ¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré! trilogy, which arrived in quick succession in 2012. Where ¡Uno! leaned on power pop, this instalment was presented as the band's take on garage rock, so it's the scrappier of the first two. It came out on Reprise Records, released on 9 November 2012 in Australia, followed by the UK on 12 November and the US on 13 November.
Reviews were generally positive, and it collected the best notices of the three records. Critics praised its varied style and catchy songs, though some found it dull and padded in places. It entered the US Billboard 200 at number nine, though its first-week sales of 69,000 were a low for the band. It's worth hearing if you want to see Green Day loosening up and getting rawer after the big-concept albums that came before.
