Father of All Motherfuckers
Father of All Motherfuckers is Green Day's thirteenth studio album, released on 7 February 2020 through Reprise Records. Butch Walker, the band and Chris Dugan produced it. It followed Revolution Radio from 2016 and came before Saviors in 2024.
The record steps well away from the band's usual punk rock sound, leaning into garage rock in a way that recalls ¡Dos! from 2012. Three singles came first: "Father of All...", "Fire, Ready, Aim" and "Oh Yeah!". It went straight to number one in the UK and Australia, among other places. Critics were divided: many enjoyed its brisk pace and energy, while others took issue with the lyrics and the running time. If you like Green Day when they're fast, loose and in a hurry, it's an interesting listen.
