Quadra
Quadra is Sepultura's sixteenth studio album, released on 7 February 2020 through Chaos Reigns. It is a concept record built around numerology and the number four, drawing on the idea of the Quadrivium. The band travelled to Sweden to record with producer Jens Bogren, and the album was the last they made with drummer Eloy Casagrande before he left to join Slipknot in 2024.
It also did well for them. Quadra charted in 17 countries and reached the top 20 in seven, making it their strongest-selling record since Against in 1998. In Germany it peaked at number five and in Switzerland at number 13, both higher than Roots managed. For anyone who has followed the Brazilians through their thrash roots and beyond, it is a heavy, ambitious record from a band still pushing its ideas.
