Album
Perdida
Perdida is the eighth studio album by Stone Temple Pilots, released through Rhino on 7 February 2020. It follows the band's 2018 self-titled record and is their second with Jeff Gutt on lead vocals. The first single, "Fare Thee Well", arrived on 2 December 2019, a couple of months ahead of the album.
What sets it apart is the approach: this is an acoustic record, largely made with vintage instruments. For a band whose catalogue runs from Core in 1992 through Purple, Tiny Music… Songs From the Vatican Gift Shop and beyond, that stripped-back setting makes for a different kind of listen. It suits anyone curious how the Stone Temple Pilots songwriting sounds when the volume is turned down and the older instruments take centre stage.
