Ohms

Ohms is the ninth studio album by Deftones, the American alternative metal band, released on 25 September 2020 through Reprise Records. It follows Gore from 2016 and draws on a blend of alternative metal, shoegaze, post-hardcore and post-metal, the mix that has long set the band apart from their heavier peers.

The record reunited them with producer Terry Date, their first work together since the unreleased Eros. It also turned out to be the last Deftones album with bassist Sergio Vega, who left in early 2021. The title track and "Genesis" came out ahead of the album, with "Ceremony" following as a later single. Critics received it warmly, and at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards "Ohms" was nominated for Best Rock Performance and "Genesis" for Best Metal Performance. It is a good place to hear the band's weight and atmosphere working together.
