Album
private music
Private music is the tenth studio album from Deftones, the American alternative metal band, released on 22 August 2025 through Reprise Records. It follows Ohms from 2020, and the five years between them make it the longest wait between Deftones albums. Two singles, "My Mind Is a Mountain" and "Milk of the Madonna", came out ahead of it.
There are a few good reasons to listen closely. Nick Raskulinecz produces, returning to the band after Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan, two records many fans hold dear. It is also the first Deftones album to feature Fred Sablan, who had been their touring bassist. The record earned a nomination for Best Rock Album at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, a sign of how warmly it was received.
