Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys
Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys is the fourth studio album by My Chemical Romance, released in November 2010 on Reprise Records. The band produced it with Rob Cavallo and recorded it in Calabasas, California. Like The Black Parade before it, it is a rock opera, set in a post-apocalyptic California in 2019, where rebellious outsiders called Killjoys fight an evil corporation.
The sound draws on sixties and seventies rock, psychedelic rock and proto-punk, which gives it a brighter, looser feel than you might expect from the concept. It debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200 and topped the Rock and Alternative charts. It was also the last album before the band's break from 2013 to 2019. Gerard Way later continued the story in a 2013 comic miniseries, so there is plenty to dig into beyond the songs.
