Live at Grimey's
Live at Grimey's captures Metallica in a small room rather than a festival field. The band recorded it on 12 June 2008 at The Basement, the venue beneath Grimey's New & Preloved Music in Nashville, Tennessee, shortly before they played the Bonnaroo Music Festival. It came out on 26 November 2010 on Warner Bros. Records, on CD and vinyl, and was sold through independent record stores and the band's website.
It arrived between Death Magnetic (2008) and Lulu (2011), and it gives thrash fans a close-up view of the band at work. Over 3,000 copies sold in its first week. Collectors may also notice the sleeve, which brings back the original Metallica logo in place of the more slanted version used from Death Magnetic onwards.
