This is a live recording of Metallica at the Kabuki Theater in San Francisco, captured on 15 March 1985. It appeared in 1990 as an archive release, so it sits well away from the band's official studio run.
The date places the show between Ride the Lightning (1984) and Master of Puppets (1986), when Metallica were still building their name on the strength of their first two albums.
