May Death Never Stop You: The Greatest Hits 2001–2013
May Death Never Stop You is a career-spanning compilation from My Chemical Romance, released on 25 March 2014 through Reprise Records. It gathers 19 songs recorded between 2001 and 2013, mixing the band's biggest singles with album tracks that fans have long held dear. It arrived after the American group announced their breakup in 2013, so it works as a closing statement on their story, which runs from I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love in 2002 through Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, The Black Parade and Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.
The extras are what set it apart from a standard round-up. "Fake Your Death" is a previously unreleased song, issued as a single on 17 February and the last thing the band made before splitting. Three demos are included too. Critics generally welcomed it as a good overview of the band's history, though some questioned the track selection. It charted in several countries and later went platinum in the UK and gold in New Zealand.
