Arise
Arise is the fourth studio album by Sepultura, the Brazilian band, released on 25 March 1991. It followed Beneath the Remains (1989), the record that broke them through, and took that album's blend of death and thrash further, leaning harder on the band's progressive and technical side. It also brings in their first dabbling with industrial music, hardcore punk and Latin percussion.
The metal press greeted it warmly, and several singles came from it. The touring was the longest the band had done to that point: 220 shows across 39 countries in 1991 and 1992. Along the way it earned their first certification, a gold record in Indonesia, and by the end of the run it had gone platinum worldwide. Many regard it as Sepultura's finest hour, and Decibel inducted it into its Hall of Fame, making them the first band with three albums there.
