Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia is the second album from Brazilian band Sepultura, released on 30 October 1987 through Cogumelo Produções. It follows Morbid Visions and is the first record to feature guitarist Andreas Kisser. The songs were all recorded in August 1987, and the album sits in the thrash and death metal camp.
Its story abroad is a good one. In America the band struggled to get gigs, as club owners were nervous about their style, so they sent radio playlists instead. Roadrunner Records signed them and put the album out internationally before seeing them play live. A 1990 reissue added the bonus track "Troops of Doom". In 2024, Max and Igor Cavalera re-recorded the album as Cavalera Conspiracy, and it earned a perfect score from Metal Injection.
