Machine Messiah
Machine Messiah is the fourteenth studio album by Sepultura, the Brazilian metal band who built their name in the mid-1980s. It came out on 13 January 2017 through Nuclear Blast, and it sits in the groove and thrash metal camp the band have worked in for so long. The title nods to a song of the same name on Yes' 1980 album Drama, which is a rather unexpected source of inspiration for a metal record.
In the band's story, it follows The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart from 2013 and comes before Quadra in 2020. It sold 1,900 units in the United States in its first week. For anyone who has followed Sepultura since Beneath the Remains or Chaos A.D., it is a chance to hear where the band stood in the later part of their career.
