Live at the Orpheum
Live at the Orpheum is a King Crimson concert album released on 13 January 2015 by Discipline Global Mobile. It was taken from two nights at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, on 30 September and 1 October 2014, during the band's Elements of King Crimson US tour. Out of all the shows on that run, all recorded on multitrack, these two were chosen, with Jakko Jakszyk sorting through the tapes. It runs to 41 minutes and came out on CD/DVD-A and heavy-weight vinyl.
It captures a band returning to the stage. The tour marked Robert Fripp's comeback after a long legal battle with Universal Music Group. The line-up is striking, with three drummers (Pat Mastelloto, Gavin Harrison and Bill Rieflin), plus Tony Levin on bass, Mel Collins on reeds, who first joined in 1970 and played on Red, and Jakszyk on guitar and vocals.
