Album
THRAK
THRAK is King Crimson's eleventh studio album, and the one that ended an eleven-year gap since Three of a Perfect Pair in 1984. It followed the mini-album Vrooom in 1994, which offered early versions of some of the same material. Where the earlier records had been shaped by smaller line-ups, this one brought together a "double trio": Adrian Belew, Robert Fripp, Trey Gunn, Tony Levin, Bill Bruford and Pat Mastelotto.
That six-piece set-up is the main reason to seek it out, as it appears on no other full King Crimson album. It was also the last studio album to feature Bruford or Levin. Released in April 1995, it suits anyone who wants to hear the band's progressive and art rock side after their 1980s records, with two drummers and two bass-playing guitarists or players sharing the load.
