Sacrifice
Sacrifice is Motörhead's twelfth studio album, and it arrived in 1995 as their first release on SPV/Steamhammer. It sits in the middle of the band's mid-nineties run, following Bastards and coming just before Overnight Sensation.
It is worth hearing as the last time Motörhead recorded as a four-piece. Lemmy, Phil Campbell, Würzel and Mikkey Dee made the record together, and Würzel left once it was finished. From the next album, Overnight Sensation, the band went back to a trio and stayed that way. For anyone tracing how the group's line-up changed, this is the closing chapter of one era, with two guitarists alongside Lemmy's bass and vocals.
