The Essential
The Essential Motörhead is a two-disc compilation that gathers the band's best-known songs from across their first fifteen years. It starts with their self-titled debut of 1977 and runs up to March ör Die, their tenth studio album, released in 1992.
That span takes in the early stretch with Overkill, Bomber and Ace of Spades, as well as the Orgasmatron and 1916 years. It came out through Metro Doubles in February 2007, a few months after Kiss of Death and ahead of Motörizer. For anyone wanting a single overview of the band's first decade and a half, without picking through a dozen albums, it makes a sensible starting point.
