No Sleep ’Til Hammersmith
No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith is Motörhead's first live album, released by Bronze on 27 June 1981. It arrived the year after Ace of Spades and before Iron Fist, so it catches the band between two studio records, in the thick of their run of early success.
It went to number one on the UK Albums Chart, a striking result for a record this loud and unpolished. A week after the album, the single "Motorhead" followed on 3 July, backed with the non-album track "Over the Top", and climbed to number 6 on the UK Singles Chart. For anyone wanting to hear what the band sounded like on stage rather than in the studio, this is the place to start.
