Earth vs. The Wildhearts
Earth vs. The Wildhearts is the debut studio album from the British rock band The Wildhearts, released in August 1993 on Bronze. The title nods to B-movie names such as Earth vs. the Flying Saucers and Earth vs. the Spider, which tells you something about the band's sense of fun before you hear a note.
It opens a catalogue that runs through Fishing for Luckies in 1994 and P.H.U.Q. in 1995, and on to Satanic Rites of the Wildhearts in 2025. The record has been reissued twice. The 1994 edition added "Caffeine Bomb", a track that had previously only appeared as a single, and the 2010 edition gathered several B-sides from the period. If you want to start at the beginning of the band's story, this is the place, and the extra tracks on the reissues make it a fuller picture of those early days.
