Radio, Radio, Radio
Radio Radio Radio is a Rancid EP, released on 26 August 1993 through Fat Wreck Chords as catalogue number FAT 509. It was the American punk band's only release for that label, and it marks a turning point: the first time Rancid appeared as a four-piece, with Lars Fredriksen joining on guitar and vocals after time in the British punk band the U.K. Subs.
The band had been a trio looking for a second guitarist to fill out their sound. Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day played a few shows with them but chose to stay put, though not before co-writing "Radio" during his short stint. Both that song and "Dope Sick Girl" were re-recorded for Let's Go the following year, but the EP versions are arranged differently, so they are well worth hearing. Fat Wreck Chords reissued it on white vinyl in January 2009.
