Rancid's fifth studio album shares its name with their 1993 debut, which is why fans often call it Rancid 5 or Rancid 2000. It came out on 18 July 2000 and was the first Rancid record issued through Hellcat Records, the label run by frontman Tim Armstrong.

It also marked the return of producer Brett Gurewitz, who has worked on every Rancid album since. For anyone tracing the band's story, it sits between Life Won't Wait in 1998 and Indestructible in 2003, and it shows a punk rock band settling into its own label and a lasting working partnership. It's a good one to reach for if you want to hear that new chapter begin.
