New Tattoo
New Tattoo is Mötley Crüe's eighth studio album, released on 11 July 2000 through Beyond. It follows Generation Swine from 1997 and sees the band turning back towards the sound that brought them success in the 1980s and early 1990s, rather than pressing on with the direction of their late-decade work.
It is also the one Mötley Crüe album without Tommy Lee, who had left a year earlier. Former Ozzy Osbourne drummer Randy Castillo took his place behind the kit, and this was the last full-length studio project he worked on before his death in March 2002. For anyone tracing the band's story, it is a distinctive chapter, with a changed line-up and a deliberate nod to their earlier style, and it sits between Generation Swine and Saints of Los Angeles in 2008.
