Rated R
Rated R is the second album from Queens of the Stone Age, released in June 2000 on Interscope Records. It was their first record for the label, and the first to feature bassist Nick Oliveri and vocalist Mark Lanegan alongside the band's core. On vinyl it carried the title Rated X, while the 2010 deluxe edition became Rated RX.
Coming after their self-titled debut in 1998, it was the record that took the band from a cult concern to a wider audience. It earned good reviews and sold well, reaching number 54 in the UK and later going gold there. Two singles came from it: "The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret", which did most to bring the band into the mainstream, and "Feel Good Hit of the Summer". It is the natural stepping stone to Songs for the Deaf, which followed in 2002.
