Brutal Planet is Alice Cooper's fourteenth solo album and twenty-first studio album overall, released on 6 June 2000 through Spitfire Records. It follows 1994's The Last Temptation and arrived after a gap of several years, with Dragontown following in 2001.

The big change is the sound. Cooper moves away from the glossier hard rock of his earlier records and goes for something much darker and heavier, with many songs leaning into a modern industrial metal feel alongside more traditional heavy metal. If you know him mainly through the hits of the late 1980s and early 1990s, this is a very different proposition, and it's worth hearing for how convincingly he reinvents himself at that point in his career.
