Zipper Catches Skin is Alice Cooper's fourteenth studio album overall and his seventh under his own name. Warner Bros. Records released it on 25 August 1982, and it sits in the hard rock camp of his catalogue.
It follows Special Forces from 1981 and comes directly before DaDa in 1983, so it belongs to a run of early-eighties records that sees Cooper working through a restless stretch of his career. For anyone tracing the singer's story from the Welcome to My Nightmare years through to the late-eighties comeback, it fills in a stage that is easy to skip over, and it is worth hearing in that context.
