The Last Temptation
The Last Temptation is Alice Cooper's thirteenth solo album and twentieth studio album overall, released on 12 July 1994 by Epic. It's a concept record, and it brings back Steven, the boy who starred in Cooper's earlier Welcome to My Nightmare. This time he meets a mysterious showman who seems to have supernatural gifts and uses twisted morality plays to coax him into a travelling show, "The Theater of the Real - The Grand-est Guignol!", where he would never grow up.
The guest list adds to the appeal. Chris Cornell of Soundgarden co-wrote two songs and sings on both. Dan Wexler of the Phoenix metal band Icon co-wrote four, including the single "Lost in America", and plays guitar on it. Derek Sherinian of Dream Theater plays keyboards. For anyone who likes Cooper's storytelling side, it's a darker, theatrical follow-up to Hey Stoopid.
