Force of Habit

Force of Habit is the fifth studio album by American thrash band Exodus, released on 25 August 1992 through Capitol Records. It is the record where they put the breakneck pace aside, slowing down and experimenting with a groove metal feel. Many of the song titles are everyday figures of speech, and there is more than one cover version in the running order, something only Fabulous Disaster had done before it.

It's an odd one in the Exodus catalogue, and that's part of its appeal. It is the only album with Mike Butler on bass, the last with John Tempesta on drums, and the only one without the band's jagged logo. After it came a long silence, with two extended hiatuses, and no new studio album arrived until Tempo of the Damned in 2004. A 2008 reissue, remastered and styled like the original vinyl, adds the Japanese bonus tracks.
