Laughing on Judgement Day
Laughing on Judgement Day is the second studio album from English hard rock band Thunder, following their debut Back Street Symphony. It was recorded between February and June 1992 at Outside Studios in Checkendon, produced by guitarist Luke Morley with Andy Taylor, who had also worked on the first record. David Bascombe mixed it at AIR Studios in London. EMI issued it on 24 August 1992.
Morley wrote most of the songs, with drummer Gary "Harry" James, singer Danny Bowes, guitarist Ben Matthews and Taylor sharing credits on a handful. It climbed to number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and went gold. Four singles followed, all reaching the UK top 40: "Low Life in High Places", "Everybody Wants Her", "A Better Man" and "Like a Satellite". The best placed of them, "A Better Man", reached number 18. It's a strong place to hear the band at their most commercially successful.
