Album
Dehumanizer
Dehumanizer is Black Sabbath's sixteenth studio album, released in the UK and Europe on 22 June 1992, with a US release following on 30 June through Reprise Records. It brought back vocalist Ronnie James Dio and drummer Vinny Appice, the pair who last played on Mob Rules in 1981, and it also marked original bassist Geezer Butler's return after nine years away. With guitarist Tony Iommi, that effectively reunited the Mob Rules line-up.
The record began with writing and demo sessions in Birmingham, where Cozy Powell played drums until a broken hip ruled him out and Appice stepped in. Two weeks of writing were followed by six weeks of rehearsing and demoing in Wales. For anyone who loves the Dio-fronted Sabbath, it is the only studio album that line-up made in this era, before they met again in 2006 and recorded The Devil You Know as Heaven & Hell.
