The Sabbath Stones
The Sabbath Stones is a Black Sabbath compilation released on 29 April 1996 through I.R.S. Records, issued as a European exclusive. It was the last Black Sabbath album to come out on the I.R.S. label.
Rather than revisiting the band's early 1970s run, the collection looks at a later stretch of their story. Most of the tracks come from the Tony Martin years, and it also draws on Born Again, Seventh Star and Dehumanizer. That makes it a handy way into the less celebrated chapters of the Sabbath catalogue, where the line-ups shifted and the band kept pushing on.
