The End
The End: Live in Birmingham documents the final night of Black Sabbath's farewell run, The End Tour. It was recorded at Genting Arena in Birmingham, the band's home city, on 4 February 2017. Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler were on stage together, with Tommy Clufetos on drums in place of original drummer Bill Ward, and Adam Wakeman on keyboards and guitar.
The record came out in November 2017, after the concert film Black Sabbath: The End of the End had appeared in September. It was issued on CD, DVD, Blu-ray and vinyl, plus a limited deluxe box set. Coming four years after the studio album 13, it works as a closing chapter for a band that began in 1970, and it is worth hearing for the sense of occasion as much as the songs.
