Angel Dust
Angel Dust is the fourth album by Faith No More, released on 8 June 1992. It followed the hugely successful The Real Thing and was the last record to feature guitarist Jim Martin. It was also the first time vocalist Mike Patton had a real hand in shaping the music, having joined after the rest of the band had already written and recorded The Real Thing, leaving only vocals and most of the lyrics to come.
The band set out to step away from the funk metal of their earlier records and aim for something more theatrical. In the United States it sold roughly half a million copies, well short of its predecessor, though it still debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 200, their only top-ten album there. Elsewhere it often outsold The Real Thing, and with over 2.5 million sales worldwide it remains their best-selling record.
