Introduce Yourself
Introduce Yourself is Faith No More's second studio album and their first for a major label, released on 23 April 1987 through London Records. Because its predecessor, We Care a Lot, was hard to find for years, plenty of listeners, the band included, treated this as the real beginning. The sound mixes alternative metal, funk metal and rap-tinged rock, with cleaner production than before.
The clearest sign of that step up is the re-recorded "We Care a Lot", which gets a sharper treatment than the original. "Chinese Arithmetic" went to radio alongside it in autumn 1987, tied to a tour with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and videos followed for "We Care a Lot" and "Anne's Song" in 1988. It is also the last record with vocalist Chuck Mosley, who was fired in 1988, so it captures the band just before the change that led to The Real Thing.
