A Dangerous Meeting
A Dangerous Meeting is a compilation from Roadrunner Records, released on 10 June 1992. It is notable as the first collection of King Diamond songs, and it also gathers older Mercyful Fate material recorded between 1982 and 1984.
For anyone coming to the band through the singer's solo work, it makes a handy bridge between the two. The Mercyful Fate tracks come from the years around Melissa and Don't Break the Oath, the albums that first shaped the band's heavy metal sound. It appeared shortly before the band's next studio album, In the Shadows, in 1993. It is worth hearing as a way to follow Diamond's career across both names.
