The Best of Mercyful Fate
The Best of Mercyful Fate is a compilation from the Danish heavy metal band, issued by Roadrunner Records in 2003. It gathers material from the years 1982 to 1984, the opening chapter of the group's story.
That stretch takes in the band's early run, including the albums Melissa (1983) and Don't Break the Oath (1984). For anyone coming to Mercyful Fate fresh, or wanting a compact reminder of where the band began before their return in the 1990s, it puts the early heavy metal work in one place.
