9 is the seventh studio album by the Danish band Mercyful Fate, recorded in February and March 1999 and released on 15 June 1999 through Metal Blade Records. It follows Dead Again from 1998 and carries on the heavier sound that record introduced.

Lyrically, it stays with the Satanic and occult themes that marked the band's early years and returned as the main focus on Time in 1994. For anyone tracing the group's story, it is the final studio album before a twenty-year hiatus from 1999 to 2019, which makes it a fitting place to hear where this second phase of the band ended up.
